Defrosted Frozen scallops? do i really have to eat them on day of defrost? like packet says?

or will they still be good tomorrow? (they were officially defrosted last night but something came up & i cant be bothered to cook anymore today!) also they are in an airtight bag (i know its airtight because its also filled with water from the defrosted scallops & it is not leaking) they are also in the fridge. thanks! =)
