Musical Careers?

music is my life. i play guitar(almost 2 years) plus tenor and bari sax(5 years, but thats only at school, cant afford to buy/rent one) im always listening to music and ive started to try to do a little composing. i want to keep pursuing music and i would really like to make a carrer of it. so im wondering if anyone has any suggestions for music majors/careers. i dont think i want to teach music, at least not at a school. i would like to do something more hands on. performing would be fun, but lets face it, being rockstar is a little impractical. i could just keep music as a hobby and do something else, but the thought of working in music as a career is thrilling to me. so, any ideas, thoughts, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. im a sophmore in highschool, so ive definetly got time to change my mind, but still, this is what i like, so ya know. also, im sick of my dad shitting all over the idea everytime i bring it up, so id like to have a lil something to back my idea. thanx
