Can you punctuate my little paragraph?

A young female or a child as the main character is one of the conventions of the Gothic literature. The purpose of having a young female or a child as the main character is that the readers will believe that the character is innocent and gullible. As a result the readers will feel sympathy towards the character and their sufferings. The main character (who is also the narrator) of ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’ is a young female. The readers will feel sympathetic towards the narrator and the helpless situation she is in “But what is one to do?” The narrator is unable to oppose her husband due to the restrictions the society has set up for women.
