Is there a limit to how cold things can get and is there also a limit to how hot things can get?

Heat is simply a measurement of the kinetic energy of atoms. The minimum heat that matter can possess is -273.15 Kelvin (absolute zero) at which point all motion stops. There is no maximum heat that atoms can possess as far as I know.
